6th-month transitional constipation
It happens to Chloe when she started solid, it took me over a month to study the best way to solve her transitional constipation problem. I think it happens to most babies where they been through consitpation when solid foods introduced.
from exclusive breastfed to solid, her stool was very hard and she only had a bowel movement once every 2-3 days. people might suggest, drink more water, juice, fruits etc, but it doesn't help for her. finally here are the solutions:
after each full meal, feed her some mixed fruits: example:- (steam and blend it for easy digestion)
1) 1 pc of dry organic prune + 2 slides of orange
2) 1 pc of dry organic prune + half pear and half peach / plum
3) 1 pc of dry organic prune + half apple and half peach / plum
during morning or early afternoon, could introduce some filling fruits, e.g.
4) Fire Dragon Fruit + Papaya
5) Banana with milk
6) Avocado with milk
If 1 dry prune doesn't work, you can add 2 instead of one.
the amount of fruit per meal can be 2 tablespoon to 2 oz , depends on her appetize.
I would suggest when it nearly finished, you can add water to dilate the fruits to watery base and feed her the juice with 5 more tablespoon in a position to increase the fluid intake into her diet.
Now, she has stool everyday, i am pretty happy with the above solutions.

Hi! I'm Brenda here. My daughter, Quenisha is turning 6 months this week. I just started to give her solid, single fine grain cereal. I wonder what type of fruits and vege you start with Chloe.
Quenisha also having problem with constipation. She only "poo poo" once every 2 days. I will try your way to see if it works with her.
once every 2 days seem fine since she might not a big eater. constipation means more than 3 days or more. I think you can consider giving her mashed congee (with some pumkins / sweet potato) all mashed with a filter. and make it like a cereal texture. When Chloe takes cereal, her poo poo is very hard, so you need to feed her fruit and veg in between cereal or congee. of course if she likes to take water or juice, that is the best solution, if not, try fruit puree with prunes or feed her papaya.
