CHLOE's first school interview at 15-month
Today we brought Chloe to HKPS for an interview, when gary saw the queue outside the school, then he said, we better leave. I told him why don't we just wait and so Chloe will have a chance to interact with other ppl. However, she is sick today with heavy running nose.... such a cold weather there at 5 pm in the evening. maybe 12c. poor chloe, we waited for an hour there....

She was interviewed by Miss Ana today and she was not behaved well during the first 3 questions (her name, who is mommy and where is her nose), she gave a silent reaction to these questions, and luckily she was fine with the rest of questions. (e.g. give the yellow cup to teacher, then give the blue cup to teacher, and teacher asked her what's that in the picture and she said Car and Dog. after teacher gave her a gift, i told her to blow a kiss, shake hand and wave bye bye. That's about it.

Nowaday, ppl are so serious about school interview, they dressed very formal... is it necessary? mmm.....

Preparation for Chloe's 1st Birthday

we are going to have a small party in the house, and there will be around a dozen of kids coming to play. What we've got!!!!! a big swimming pool at the balcony, cars for them to ride on, walkers for younger babies, ballons, balls pool, fishing and sand toys for them to play at the beach. To them, tomorrow is gonna be an exciting day~ althought things are not that fancy, but am sure it gonna be a lot of fun~

I am getting excited for tomorrow's event and hope Chloe won't fall asleep in the middle of the party. We need to work hard today to bump the balloons and setup the party stuff.

She can says: "Ma Ma, a Dog, Che Che, Dad De, More" pretty well
she has 8 teeths now

Baby-led Weaning off my breast at 11.5 months

Chloe suddenly becomes independent and rejected my breast, also today is the first night she can sleep through the night... i guess she is telling me "hay mom: i am a toddler not a baby, i don't need to rely on you, i am too busy to explore new tastes and the world rather than spending lots of time on sucking your boring nipples. also, i prefer sleep more rather than waking up at night to do something stupid". She has been crying 3 nights in a row and been rejecting my breast, then i thought, is she teething? she normally needs my breast more if she is teething to get the comfort of it.....why she refuses my breast before she goes to bed and can stand not drinking any milk before bedtime? is she sick cos she crys for an hour before she went straight to sleep mode. now i realised she was telling me she don't want my breast since 3 days ago.

I need to adjust myself cos i am still waking up 2-3 times at night and wondering why she is still sleeping.

Anyway... today it reminds me of this big achivement of Chloe becomes a Toddler, not a baby.

Crawling at 9-month

CRAWLING
Finally, Chloe managed to crawl very well at the age of 9 months, pretty late start compare to other who can crawl at 6 or 7 months. Her crawling position is quite good so far and she loves to crawl around the house and explores every small and big items.

TEETHING - 4 teeths
Now, she has 4 teeths in total, and it is very painful for me during this month, she bites my nipples and caused cracked nipples...... oh my god, i got to keep on breastfeeding while suffering the knife cutting pain when she drinks milk from my breast... i got to hang in there and wait until my nipples recovored, it could be 10 to 20 days.

Roseola Infantum (three-day-fever)

First bath at the Hospital (Aug 07)
Look, the way she cries now is exactly same as the look when she was born. She is very sick this week and had a fever for nearly 5 days... finally, the doctor said she got the ROSEOLA INFANTUM (like a heat rashes) thing that occurs on most babies between 9 months to 1.5 yrs old. While she was suffering from this illness, she is also teething at the same time.... poor chloe, having two things happening at the same time, she was very very grumpy and refused to eat solid, ignoring ppl, etc.

The World Family program is the best thing to keep her mood better.... thank god!

Sleep like a Koala

Now, Chloe is eight month old, when i do the night feed, she always sleeps on my shoulder like a Koala after each feed, very sweet and peaceful. Now we have lots of interactions like:-

Hello (wave hand)
Goodbye (wave hand)
Clap hands
Sit
Up
Give me five
Peekaboo
also a secret one (not going to tell everyone)

She really enjoys walking with our support, she always wants to walk and walk..... we are exhausted. Finally, father bought her a baby walker so she can have a bit of excitment by walking around the house and explore new stuff by herself. I am still looking forward to see her crawl........ not sure she can do this before 10-month.

STILL BRESATFEEDING???????????

STILL BRESATFEEDING??????????? ENCOURAGING EMAIL FROM JACQUALINE

today, i got an email from my friend Jacko, here are our converstaions:~

Jacqueline wrote:

still breastfeeding?!? Now I really need to get to know you again! You're surely a very very good mother, sacrificing time and freedom. It's too tough for me and I only tried a week or so and gave up. I was so down and depressed having to breast-feed, change diaper, bath, wash, etc. and repeat these for 24 hrs a day. I did pumped milk for Darryl for a month or so but that's it really. I just went with the bottle. It's good that you can insist cos' it's good for her health and it's a long lasting, lifetime advantage over bottle fed babies. When she catches virus or other disease later on in her childhood or adult life, it'll definitely take her a shorter time to recover, and the symtoms won't be as serious either. KEEP IT UP!! Cheers, Jackie

My reply:
Thanks for your note and encouraging word..... yes, i am still breastfed my baby exclusively + trying some solids twice a day. to you and many mothers, they think it's cool someone like me can breastfeed my baby for so long, and i do enjoy it very much while you see a little one who is so naive and fully depend on me while she really enjoys the comfort of being fed in this way.

But ......... it's very sad you hear compliant from your loved one who think you are not good enough. I am mentally exhausted to hear my husband says "oops, you forgot to put diaper into the bin" or "you forgot to put tissue into the bin" or "you forgot this or that" and says "you always need someone who follow your mess" , it seems there will not be perfectly right while i am doing ONE small mistake out of TEN everyday..... yet i do sleep till 10-11 am most of the day he said, but he never thinks how many timessss i wake up at night to comfort baby and do the night feedings. If the email was written by him, I won't feel exhausted mentally and physically and thank god someone who do appreciate my hard work. After read your email, i feel even more sad why people think so different in different angles.

CUPPYCAKE SONG - from youtube

I found a new song to teach my baby:-

You're my Honeybunch, Sugarplum
Pumpy-umpy-umpkin, You're my Sweetie Pie
You're my Cuppycake, Gumdrop
Snoogums-Boogums, You're the Apple of my Eye
And I love you so and I want you to know
That I'll always be right here
And I love to sing sweet songs to you
Because you are so dear

HAPPY BABY

6th-month transitional constipation

It happens to Chloe when she started solid, it took me over a month to study the best way to solve her transitional constipation problem. I think it happens to most babies where they been through consitpation when solid foods introduced.

from exclusive breastfed to solid, her stool was very hard and she only had a bowel movement once every 2-3 days. people might suggest, drink more water, juice, fruits etc, but it doesn't help for her. finally here are the solutions:

after each full meal, feed her some mixed fruits: example:- (steam and blend it for easy digestion)
1) 1 pc of dry organic prune + 2 slides of orange
2) 1 pc of dry organic prune + half pear and half peach / plum
3) 1 pc of dry organic prune + half apple and half peach / plum

during morning or early afternoon, could introduce some filling fruits, e.g.
4) Fire Dragon Fruit + Papaya
5) Banana with milk
6) Avocado with milk

If 1 dry prune doesn't work, you can add 2 instead of one.
the amount of fruit per meal can be 2 tablespoon to 2 oz , depends on her appetize.
I would suggest when it nearly finished, you can add water to dilate the fruits to watery base and feed her the juice with 5 more tablespoon in a position to increase the fluid intake into her diet.

Now, she has stool everyday, i am pretty happy with the above solutions.

When Chloe reached 7 months, I taught her clap hands and wave hand, she managed to pick up these new skills very fast and she starts doing it all the time. I found it very amazing about the body interaction between us. She is becoming very sensitive to new stuff, she always interested to the surroundings and what's going on around her.

Chloe's second teeth is growing at 6.5 months. We walk the beach almost every morning if the weather is good. Last week, I took her to baby gathering again, and she is the first baby who has teeth growing among other babies, maybe she receives vitamin D from sunlight during everyday bath, therefore, her teeths come pretty fast. She really enjoy bathing and we serve her like a queen, seems like she is having a SPA everyday.

BABY FOOD RECIPES

http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/
Now, Chloe is six-month old, i am starting to feed her solid 2 times a day, here is a useful link to teach us how to do homemade baby food.

I heard many of the infant once they started solid, they might have problem on stools, Chloe has the sam problem, the best way i discovered to help is to drink more water, drink prune juice, banana, papaya white grape juice.....but not apple juice.
